蔡承哲 (1988)

蔡承哲,臺灣青年作曲家,1988年生於高雄。高雄師範大學音樂學士;碩士畢業於交通大學音樂研究所,主修作曲,師事李子聲;現就讀臺北藝術大學音樂系作曲博士班,師事潘世姬、楊聰賢。並作為博士交換生於20169月赴中國中央音樂學院作曲系交換一年,師事郭文景。 

蔡承哲就讀高雄師範大學期間,作曲師事桑磊栢,理論師事簡郁珊,兩度獲得全國學生音樂比賽樂曲創作優等第一名。20122013年作品獲選於臺北國際現代音樂節演出,並成為臺灣首位學生獲選第24屆日本武生國際音樂節(Takefu International Music Festival)全額獎學金,且獲邀參加泰國布拉帕大學(Burapha University)7屆國際音樂暨表演藝術節(Music and Performing Arts International Festival)之實驗泰國音樂與舞蹈工作坊(Experimental Thai Music and Dance Workshop) 

2014年碩士論文作品管弦樂曲《梵天》榮獲國立臺灣交響樂團「新樂.星躍」青年音樂創作競賽第三名。並於同年二度獲得第25屆日本武生國際音樂節獎學金,入選第5屆法國Etchings音樂節(Etchings Festival)、第7屆美國Atlantic音樂節(Atlantic Music Festival) 

2015年受采風樂坊委託創作絲竹七重奏《韋馱天-哈瑪星之月》於臺北國家演奏廳首演。並於同年兩度獲選參加陳其鋼音樂工作坊、第5屆北京國際作曲大師班、第26屆日本武生國際音樂節、第8屆美國Atlantic音樂節與第6屆義大利Cortona Sessions音樂節(Cortona Sessions) 

2016年獲選參加第3屆陳其鋼音樂工作坊、第6屆北京國際作曲大師班、第27屆日本武生國際音樂節、第5屆義大利Composit音樂節,並以優異在校成績獲得臺北藝術大學「104學年度博士獎學金」。 

蔡承哲近期創作極具東方宗教文化色彩,作品多以佛教音樂、印度音樂和其他亞洲儀式音樂等主題作為創作靈感,致力將東方文化推向世界。 

 

TSAI Cheng-che (1988)

Tsai Cheng-che is a Taiwanese composer born in Kaohsiung in 1988. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in music at the National Kaohsiung Normal University (NKNU) and receivedhis Master’s degree from the Institute of Music at National Chiao Tung University, where he studied composition with Lee Tzyy-sheng.

He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition at Taipei National University of the Arts under the tutelage of Pan Shyh-ji and Yang Tsung-hsien. He also joined a 2016 exchange program for doctoral candidates and spent a year at theCentral Conservatory of Music in Beijing studying with Guo Wen-jing.

During his undergraduate years at NKNU, he studied composition with Paul SanGregory and Sansan Chien, winning twice the First Prize for Composition in Taiwan’s National Student Competition of Music. His compositions were also performed at the 2012and 2013 Taipei International New Music Festival.

Tsai became the first student from Taiwan to be offered full scholarship from the Takefu International Music Festival in Japan in 2014, and he was invited to join the Experimental Thai Music and Dance Workshop at the 7th Music and Performing Arts International Festival at Burapha University in Thailand.

In 2014, his graduatethesis composition Brahma won Third Prize in the Youth Composition Competition organized by the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, and was shortlisted for awards at the 5th Etchings Festival in France and the 7th Atlantic Music Festival in Maine. He was also awarded another scholarship by the 25th Takefu festival in Japan.

In 2015, he was commissioned by Chai Found Music Workshop to compose asizhu septet, and the ensuing Skanda -Moon of Hamasen debuted at the National Theater and Concert Hall. He alsoqualified twice for workshops held by noted composer Chen Qi-gang and for the5th Beijing International Composition Workshop.

That same year, Tsai was shortlisted for awards at the 26th Takefu International Music Festival in Japan, 8th Atlantic Music Festival in Maine, and 6th Cortana Sessions in Italy.

In 2016, he joined the 3rd Chen Qi-gang Music Workshop, 6th Beijing International Composition Workshop, 27th Takefu International Music Festival, and 5th Composit Festival in Italy. He also became the recipient of a doctoral grant from Taipei National Universityof the Arts for academic excellence.

Tsai is currently crafting new compositions that embody elements from Asian religious music, in whichhe draws inspiration from Buddhist music, traditional Indian music, and other ritualistic music from around Asia in the hope of promoting Asian cultures onthe world stage.
