About the Performance
Mourning her mother since childhood, Kang Yan'er has been subject to coldness and mistreatment by her stepmother. One day by chance she meets Crown Prince Hongwen of Zhao, and the two pledge lifelong love to one another. Returning home from military victory, Hongwu requests marriage to Kang Ying'er…but who would have thought that Father Kang would mistakenly arrange for her older sister Kang Yan'er to marry Hongwu instead? Thinking that by marrying the ideal husband she can escape her wretched situation, Kang Yan'er ventures deep into the palace only to discover that her husband-to-be is her paramour's older brother, while secretly knowing that she has been carrying Hongwen's child......
